Chitika ads work like other pay per click program ads with a few small differences, making Chitika a unique online marketing system.
Chitika is a pay per click program that works in a similar fashion as AdSense. For anyone with a blog or a website that they want to make money from, Chitika can be either an alternative to other pay per click ad programs, or it can be used alongside other ad programs. It is compatible with AdSense. Using both does not violate the terms of use of either Chitikaor AdSense. Search MarketingWhile AdSense and Kontera ads may be better-known than Chitika, the search targeted advertising available from Chitika works in a similar way to both, but with a couple of unexpected twists. The Chitika pay per click ads that are displayed on a website or blog are based on keywords, just like the ads from the AdSense and Kontera pay per click programs. However, they are not displayed based on the keywords on the page. The keywords are chosen by the searcher. The keywords that actually decide the pay per click ads displayed by Chitika are the exact terms that are searched for in a search engine to get to the page in which they are displayed. In other words, a reader searches through Google, Yahoo or another search engine and finds a publisher's Web page. The reader then clicks through the search engine and arrives at the site. Pay per click ads are displayed on that page that correspond to what the reader searched for, along with the search terms in quotation marks displayed above the ads. And if the reader did not come to the Web page through a search engine? Then no Chitika pay per click ads are displayed. Many Web publishers appreciate that their regular readers, who reach their website because of a bookmark or an RSS feed can still reach the page and read it without new ads on it. Pay Per Click ProgramLike AdSense and Kontera, the owner of the Web page is paid each time someone clicks on one of the ads. Using the Chitika pay per click program works on a keyword pay per click bid system, much like using Google AdWords. The most popular keywords for online marketing are the most expensive because of the higher competition and the lesser-used keywords are less expensive. To use Chitika for online marketing, the marketer creates a headline of up to 30 characters and a text ad of up to 70 characters. The set-up system also allows advertisers to choose what country they wish their ads to be displayed in, with an option to display them worldwide. Advertisers pay a fee of $5 to set up their advertising accounts. They choose the cost of their online marketing by choosing how much they are willing to pay for each reader click of one of their ads. The amount they pay for their online marketing through Chitika may be less than the maximum amount they choose, depending on the amount of competition for the keywords. ChitikaSearchThe Chitika ads that are displayed on a Web page are boxed and accompanied by a second tab with houses a Chitika search function. This allows readers to conduct Web searches without leaving the page, much like the AdSense for Search program.
