Associated Content is a site that offers new and established writers and bloggers a way to make money fast by writing short articles, essays and other types of content. There are two ways to be paid for content- through upfront payments and performance payments.
Joining the site is free and takes only a few minutes to enter contact information and to become verified with either an automated phone call or with some additional personal information. Members who are U.S. citizens can make money writing for the site.
How to Make Money Fast With Upfront Payments
A member of Associated Content who wants to make money writing for the site must create an article and enter it into the AC publishing tool that is reached by clicking the Publishing tab. After selecting the article type, the publishing tool asks whether the member wants to submit the item for exclusive, non-exclusive or display only.
To be eligible for an upfront payment, choose either exclusive or non-exclusive. Exclusive means that Associated Content will own the full rights to the article while non-exclusive means you will be free to publish it again elsewhere. Choosing the non-exclusive option may mean that the upfront offer is slightly lower than with the exclusive offer. However, non-exclusive articles can be reprinted on Bukisa to earn more money for the articles.
Short stories and poems are accepted by AC, but they are not eligible for upfront payments. To make the content as attractive as possible to the site, publish articles that are free from numerous grammatical errors and that are written about topics that the site isn't already saturated with. A quick search through the site will reveal how many articles the site has on any topic.
Associated Content offers upfront payments of $1 to $20 at their discretion. Members often report that upfront payments of $3 to $7 are the most common payment amounts. Higher upfront payment amounts are often the result of Associated Content partners who advertise for "partner assignments" through the site. These assignments often pay more than typical AC assignments, but they are published elsewhere and are not eligible for performance payments.
How to Make Money Writing for Performance Payments
Performance payments are another way to make money writing articles and other content. All content is eligible for performance payments- even fiction, poetry and essays. Writers earn money writing items that get page views. The base payment rate for performance rate is $1.50 for each 1,000 page views.
Each writer is ranked for their total number of page views since beginning on the site, and those who have higher rank earn more money through performance views. The "Clout" ratings are 1-10, with members earning more for performance payments when they earn a Clout 7. The highest-ranked members, at Clout 10, receive $2 per 1,000 page views.
Writers can make money writing articles for the site by earning upfront payments and performance payments for the same articles. While Associated Content doesn't offer an upfront payment for all articles submitted, all articles from U.S. writers, even if they've gotten an upfront payment offer, earn performance payments. The performance payments are paid once per month and continue as long as the writer is an active member of the site. To remain active, the member must log into the site at least every 90 days.
Making Money at Home With AC
Many Associated Content members earn money writing for the site by writing a diverse body of articles that earn numerous upfront payments each month as well as a monthly performance payment. Some members are making money at home with the site as a part-time income by writing hundreds of articles for the site and promoting them by reading and commenting on other people's articles.
Associated Content prefers articles that are written with a personal touch rather than objective or formal. Popular topics on the site are news articles that are written with some of the writer's opinion thrown in, medical articles, essays about news articles and craft articles that teach readers how to make something.
