Article directories are generally utilized by Internet marketers in order to draw readers in to click on a link as well as to provide backlinks. One of the most useful functions of article directories may be that other sites are welcome to republish the articles as long as the links are kept intact. This can lead to an unlimited number of backlinks from one article.
Some sites that call themselves article directories do not allow republishing and are therefore of limited use for Internet marketing. The following article directories each allow republishing and have a high enough page rank to attract traffic and potential customers.
EZine Articles
The best-ranked article directory of them all is Ezinearticles.com. This site has a page rank of six and for years has boosted its articles to the top spots in Google searches. Ezine Articles has slightly more stringent rules than many article directories. It doesn't allow articles about some topics, such as PLR articles, firearms or tobacco products.
It also doesn't allow direct affiliate links in the resource box. The resource box links must be to a top-level domain rather than to a specific page. To use the site for Internet marketing, create a site that has content and affiliate links and direct the Ezine links toward that site. The top-level domain link may also redirect to another page.
The rules for links allow for some links in the text area as long as the author is not affiliated with the sites linked to and the links fall after the first three paragraphs. Two links to site that the writer is affiliated with are allowed in the resource box.
Article Dashboard
Another article directory with a page rank of six, Article Dashboard doesn't allow affiliate links in the text, though they are allowed in the resource box. Article Dashboard also translates some articles for its foreign language sites, giving the articles a much broader audience. Article authors are required to keep their links live.
Article Pool
Another page rank of six, Article Pool, has few rules and allows links both in the text of the article and in the resource box. The site is one of the simplest article directories to use and easy for beginners to get their start in article marketing.
Free Articles
All of the top article directories make Internet marketing a little easier by offering website owners and bloggers all the free articles they can use. They can choose from articles in their niche or expand their sites with free articles about any subject imaginable. This benefits the article author by expanding their number of backlinks and benefits publishers with free content.
