Get Published
The Wild Rose Press accepts romance novels that feature heterosexual, monogamous couples and that have happy endings. To get published with this online publisher, send a query letter first. Once invited to submit a full manuscript, email an attachment containing the completed romance book in the required format.
Submitted romance book manuscripts should conform to the writer's guidelines. Each submission should be labeled with the category that the book belongs in. Each of the publisher's 13 categories are described in the writer's guidelines, as are the different word counts, from 7,500 to 100,000, that are allowed.
The romance novels available from this online publisher are not required to have erotic scenes, though they are allowed. The romance subcategories available include mystery and suspense, Western historical, contemporary, two types of paranormal romance and more. Like other online publishers, the lower overhead cost of online publishing allows the writer's cut of the sale price to be higher than that of print romance novels, though there is generally no advance. While print romance publishers may pay an advance and royalties of two to 10 percent, The Wild Rose Press pays no advance and offers 30 percent royalties. Online publishing often results in fewer titles being sold than print books that are available in bookstores, but it may also be easier to get published.
