Xomba can be used as either a social bookmarking site or an article directory. Members can make money with Adsense by using Xomba.

Editor's Choice

Most people who engage in online writing and publishing have seen the power of social bookmarking in raising their traffic rates and publicizing their articles.

A backlink from a social bookmarking site like StumbleUpon or Digg can help to raise the page rank of an article, blog or website. It also brings an article to the attention of people who may not have otherwise seen it. But when using Xomba, online publishers can get a backlink, bring in new readers and also make money with AdSense from each page that displays the member's links or other items.

AdSense is a pay per click program that pays account holders each time someone clicks on one of the AdSense ads they've placed on the site.

Social Bookmarks

On Xomba, each bookmark is called a Xomblurb. These blurbs are a simple bookmark, a title, a short description written about the link, a category for the link and a few keywords. Items are bookmarked on Xomba in much the same way as Digg and other similar social bookmarking sites. However, each bookmark is on its own page of the site, and each page has AdSense ads.

The site pays 50 percent of the AdSense revenue to the member who made the bookmark. Xomba does not pay the revenue directly, but like HubPages and other revenue sharing sites, it allows members to add their own AdSense publisher's ID to the site to earn the revenue directly through their own AdSense accounts.

Revenue Sharing Articles

The site also allows short pieces of content, such as essays and articles, to be written for the same share of the AdSense revenue. Xombytes are pieces that are 150 words or longer and that don't contain a link as their main focus. These can be used on Xomba the way that article directories are used to relay information and to then direct interested readers to a link if they want to learn more.

Members retain the copyright to any material that they publish through Xomba. Members can edit their Xomblurbs and Xombytes at any time.

Referrals

Xomba also has a referral program that allows members to earn a percentage of anyone they refer to the site. Members earn 10 percent of the AdSense revenue that their referrals earn, while the referrals still earn 50 percent of the revenue from their pages.

For Internet marketers who use social bookmarks as part of their marketing strategy, Xomba is one of the few sites that combines Internet marketing with revenue sharing. Marketers can bookmark their own items, as long as they are not defamatory or pornographic, and reap the benefits of the links, the readers on Xomba and the income derived from the pages.
